De Chiang Mai
People have been talking about this famous and authentic Thai restaurant for years, way way back since my primary school time. Knowing that it's located in a very kampung (village) area in Sungai Buloh, I never thought paying there a visit would be a brilliant idea as I was warned getting there was really not an easy job.
I recently came across a blog introducing this particular restaurant, providing clear address and GPS coordination all. So I decided to give it a try as i could make reliance on GPS.
We happily made our way there on this fine Sunday evening. Unfortunately, some technical issues arose with the GPS and we didn't manage to locate the restaurant, both address and coordination didn't work. Damn! Since we were already in Sungai Buloh, we thought we should try our luck to search for it.
Unknowingly, we were led into really small, narrow and dark alleys in the kampung. That was very scary okay. We made all sorts of wrong turning etc for f**king one and a half hour, then we decided to give up. Left in despair, while we made a turn back to PJ this friend of mine (who was still trying his luck with the GPS) suddenly yelled 'I found it, I found it!'
What happened? After all, it was just that simple - click on 'Restaurant' in 'Sungai Buloh', De Chiang Mai was one of the first few that show! We learnt a lesson, we learnt to begin with the easiest path, always.
So, we were navigated to De Chinag Mai! The grand entrance.
Leading us to the restaurant.
A hungry man is an angry man. So what is a hungry and angry man? Haha! With just 4 of us, we ordered 7 dishes.
Tom Yum and pandan chicken, a norm and a must-not-miss in any Thai restaurant.
Belacan kangkung, my beloved.
Green curry chicken, which was okay too.
Lastly, the so called famous De Chiang Mai siakap.
Got the answer to my question now? Okay, let me tell you, a hungry and angry man is a f**king CRAZY man! We managed to finish the whole table of food okay, plus 2 bowls of rice each. Oh my!
I was too busy eating, whether i was hungry or the food was just too delicious, regardless. XD
We stuffed and stuffed, to the extent that we couldn't take in any more dessert. But nevermind, they don't look too interesting though.lol
Varieties of food product from Thailand are on sale too.
Last but not least, i was impressed by the female toilet @@
Our bill totaled RM160, which i wouldn't say is cheap, but not too expensive though for 7 dishes.
